CUMMINS ASKS FOR REVIEW OF BROWN CASE

OTTAWA - Reform MP John Cummins (Delta) has sent a letter to Defence Minister David Collenette regarding the case of Trooper Kyle Brown of the Airborne Regiment.

"In light of the evidence in regard to the malaria drug mefloquine and the Finta decision of the Supreme Court, I would encourage the Department to reconsider its demand for a tougher sentence against Kyle Brown," said Cummins.

"I'm asking the Minister of Defence to review this case to ensure justice is done and in the meantime for Kyle Brown to be released from prison," concluded Cummins.
